The Caine's Wedding

Henna Party

It is traditional to have a Henna Party also known as the Mehndi Party the night before the wedding. Artists use a paste made from dried henna leaves to paint intricate patterns on the hands of women.

Mehndi sessions are a tradition from ancient cultures dating back over five thousand years, where the bride to be is given the secrets of a happy and fruitful marriage by the couples closet family and friends.

It is believed that henna gives blessings, luck and joy. When henna is placed on the palms of the hand it is meant to signify that the person is open to receive and offer blessings.

We would like to offer the opportunity for our guests to have some henna applied.

If you would like henna applied please wear something with short sleeves as it makes it easier to apply henna to your hands and stops it from staining your outfit.

While the Henna is being applied to guests, others will be able to use the hotel facilities to buy food and drink.
